SEND Teacher - Nurture Room

  • Location: Birmingham (Primary School)
  • Start Date: October 2025
  • Salary: 145 - 175 per day (depending on experience)
  • Contract: Part Time, Ongoing
  • Hours: Every other Friday, 8:30am - 3:15pm

Are you a dedicated and compassionate teacher with experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Our client, a welcoming and close-knit Birmingham primary school, is seeking a qualified SEND Teacher to work in their Nurture Room on alternate Fridays.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school community where staff work collaboratively to make a real difference to children's learning and wellbeing. With no planning required, you'll be able to focus on delivering engaging and meaningful sessions that nurture confidence, independence, and positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and support to small groups of pupils within the Nurture Room.
  • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment tailored to individual needs.
  • Use strategies to support children with SEND/SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Collaborate effectively with class teachers, SENCo, and support staff to meet pupil needs.

Requirements:

  • UK QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification).
  • Previous experience teaching pupils with SEND/SEMH.
  • Strong curriculum knowledge and ability to adapt teaching approaches.
  • Experience working with Autism, ADHD and Non-Verbal Students
  • Right to work in the UK and Enhanced DBS (on the update service or willingness to apply).
