Job summary

A specialist education recruitment agency is seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to lead a primary class for pupils with autism in Romford. SEN Teacher – Autism Specialist – Primary – Havering

From £170/day | Special School | Havering | Immediate Start | Full-Time | Long-Term

Axcis are delighted to be working with a warm and well‑resourced special school in Havering, who are seeking an experienced SEND Teacher to lead a small primary class for pupils with autism and complex learning needs. Responsibilities
  • Teaching a small class of primary‑aged pupils with a range of autism profiles and communication needs.
  • Planning creative, highly differentiated lessons that incorporate visuals, sensory activities and structured routines.
  • Working closely with a skilled team of TAs, therapists and the SENCO to deliver personalised EHCP targets.
  • Using a blend of communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, attention‑based strategies and sensory regulation techniques.
  • Creating an environment that celebrates progress, independence and pupil wellbeing.
