Pathways is a small class provision for children with communication and interaction difficulties, including Autism. Footsteps is a small, nurturing provision offering a predictable, calm, purposeful environment for those children who would benefit from small group, specialised teaching and learning opportunities.

Role

We are looking to appoint an individual, who is passionate about working with children with SEND, to lead the class. Someone who is enthusiastic, fun, solution focused, calm and a team player.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the class and provide high-quality teaching and support for pupils with SEND.
  • Develop learning programmes tailored to individual needs and ability levels.
  • Coordinate the work of support staff to ensure effective provision for pupils.
  • Liaise with external agencies and a range of other professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Maintain positive relationships with children and parents, communicating effectively about progress and needs.
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s SEND provision and inclusion practices.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience of working with children with SEND, in particular with ASD.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to form positive relationships with children and parents.
  • Experience in developing programmes of learning.
  • Experience liaising with external agencies and a range of professionals.
  • Experience coordinating the work of support staff.
  • A growth mindset and a patient, kind, and caring approach.
What We Offer
  • An enthusiastic, caring staff team with high expectations of themselves and the children.
  • A supportive Senior Leadership team with a strong commitment to the school.
  • A comprehensive induction programme and opportunities for high-quality professional development across the Federation.
  • The opportunity to help develop the vision for children with SEND.
  • A school where inclusion is central to our planning.
