Newcastle College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Adviser to join a passionate team that supports the achievements of students with additional learning needs and or disabilities including young people and adults.
As a SEND Adviser, you will collaborate with internal colleagues, parents/carers, and external agencies to create and implement personalised support plans for learners. Your expertise will contribute to fostering an inclusive learning environment where every student can achieve their full potential.
You will provide direct support to a case load of learners with SEND and wellbeing support needs which will entail an initial assessment and regular reviews to ensure appropriate support is in place. You too will liaise with college staff to plan and implement suitable support in and outside of the classroom and coordinate the application of exam access arrangements if required.
As the successful candidate, you will be an enthusiastic and adaptable person, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to inclusive education. You will have Level 2 English & Maths or equivalent and be able to work flexibly, including evening work, and supporting at our off-site provision.
