Job summary

A well-regarded secondary school in Southwark is looking for a qualified SENCO to lead the SEN department, starting ASAP. The successful candidate will be responsible for both SEN and mainstream teaching, working closely with the pastoral team. Candidates should have teaching experience and leadership skills, alongside a thorough knowledge of the new SEND Code of Practice. Responsibilities

This position is to lead the SEN department and be responsible for the smooth day to day running of SEN. The SENCO role is a full-time position that requires someone who is exceptionally organised and efficient, used to dealing with a diverse workload and has excellent communication skills. You will be delivering SEN teaching plus mainstream teaching and working closely with the pastoral team. The ideal SENCO would be able to coach, mentor and lead others, have thorough knowledge of the new SEND Code of Practice and be skilled in working with students with a range of abilities and needs.
