Job summary

A tutoring organization is looking for an inspirational SEN Tutor in Wigan to provide one-to-one support for students with SEN requirements. The ideal candidate should be patient and empathetic, capable of creating individualized learning plans. The role is part-time, flexible, and pays £25 per hour. Applicants need QTS or equivalent and ideally some teaching experience. This is a temporary contract with ongoing opportunities.

Job description
Overview

Prospero teaching is looking for tutors with experience with SEN students or in an SEN setting in the Wigan Area to provide 1 to 1 support to students with SEN requirements. We are looking for an inspirational and engaging tutor to help support those whose needs may not have been within the traditional school setting.

The successful tutor will need to be patient, empathetic and able to create/deliver learning plans on a 1 to 1 basis. A therapeutic approach may also be needed to re-engage students with their learning. The aim is to provide the pupil with structure in their daily routine and to continue their educational development, ultimately helping them return to an educational setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one tutoring support to students with SEN requirements.
  • Create and deliver individualized learning plans for each pupil.
  • Apply a therapeutic approach when needed to re-engage learners with their education.
  • Help structure daily routines and support ongoing educational development to facilitate return to an educational setting.
  • Collaborate with Prospero and monitor pupil progression, including submitting weekly reports.

Experience, Training and Qualifications
  • QTS or equivalent or tutoring experience
  • UK classroom teaching experience preferred but not essential
  • Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
  • Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils
