Overview

SEN Tutor – Redbridge

Prospero Teaching is looking for SEND Specialist Tutors to deliver bespoke 1:1 tuition to young people with SEND who cannot currently access mainstream education.

The Opportunity: we are seeking inspirational tutors around Redbridge to support children and young people with SEND who may be disengaged from learning, feel anxious about attending school, or whose needs are not fully supported at school.

Responsibilities

• Create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lessons to bridge gaps in pupils' education and boost attainment levels.
• Support and re-engage a pupil in their learning, provide structure to their daily routine, and continue their educational development with the goal of returning to school.
• Monitor progression for each pupil and submit weekly reports as requested by Prospero Teaching.

Contract / Position Details

• Location: Various locations across Redbridge
• Position: SEND Specialist Tutor
• Type of work: Contract
• Start date: ASAP
• Duration: Ongoing
• Contract type: Temporary
• Hours: Part-time (working hours differentiate according to family timings)
• Minimum rate of pay: £25 per hour (negotiable)

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent
• Possess UK classroom teaching experience
• PECS/Makaton training preferred but not essential
• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside the box
• Experience working with challenging behaviour and disengaged pupils

Eligibility

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate with online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references
