London Borough of Bromley Council is working hard to do things differently in SEND, to do things better than ever before. We are a forward-thinking Service in an ambitious and stable Local Authority : we are champions for our children and young people with Special Educational Needs, and we all work hard to make sure that we’re doing as much as possible to deliver solid outcomes and great opportunities for our students.
We’ve changed how we do things, and with a new-look service taking shape, we’re wanting a SEN Team Manager to join our existing management structure. This role will lead our birth to Year 8 function and team.
Are you passionate about improving the outcomes and increasing opportunities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs? Do you have a care and concern to see SEN done differently, to see SEN done better?
If so, this is your opportunity to join a high-performing, highly-focussed and dedicated SEN Service, where we put children and young people first.
We invest in our people too, where teamwork and collaboration matters, where learning and development are not jut tick-boxes once a year, but a part of our processes. We celebrate success, and every piece of work you do will help shape a brighter, fairer, more inclusive future for those with SEN.
We offer a generous package including competitive pay, career average pension scheme, flexible working practices and the Bromley employee benefits scheme; Cycle2Work, Salary Sacrifice Lease Car, Technology Scheme, GymFlex and a wide range of local and national discounts.
You will have a strong SEN skill set with a background in a Local Authority, school, or Multi-Academy Trust, able to define your own management and leadership style; you will have a deep understanding of what SEN is within the LA. You’ll be able to show where you’ve made improvement in your team or service in the past, and you will be driven and engaged to keep making things happen. You’ll know all about Annual Reviews, data and performance, and statutory duties of the Council, schools, and services, and you’ll feel comfortable engaging with Headteachers and senior leaders in the Local Area. You’ll be a caring person, but not afraid of a challenge either : you will do things.
If this sounds like you, like the work and job you want to do, in a place you want to be, please do not hesitate to apply, we look forward to hearing from you soon.
