Qualifications

Overview

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) – Location: Sheffield – Salary: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience) – Start Date: Immediate – Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

Responsibilities
  • Provide focused 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.
  • Adapt learning materials and approaches to match individual needs.
  • Support positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Track and share pupil progress to ensure targeted support.
  • Encourage confidence, resilience, and independence in all learners.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with SEN.
  • Knowledge of a range of needs such as autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive attitude.
  • Resilience and commitment to supporting inclusive education.
  • A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
  • A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps in the last 10 years.
