Overview

Aspire People are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants for day-to-day, short-term and long-term supply work in a SEN school in Lincoln, to start ASAP. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to gain experience across multiple schools, classes and year groups, along with experience supporting children with a range of mental and physical needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide classroom support to pupils in SEN settings, including those with ASD, social communication difficulties and severe disabilities.
  • Build relationships quickly and work effectively in small groups.
  • Cover planned bookings and last-minute sickness cover as part of supply staffing for SEN schools.
  • Create a supportive environment to help children receive the appropriate support to achieve their potential.
  • Work across different schools, classes and year groups to develop varied experience.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Relevant experience of working with SEN children or within a care background.
  • Experience of working with young people with anxiety/mental health needs.
  • Experience of profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).
  • Experience of using sensory strategies.
  • Training for administration of medication or willingness to learn.
  • A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
  • Willing to undertake a DBS through Aspire People or be on the update service.
  • Minimum of 2 satisfactory and recent references.
  • Right to work in the UK is required.
