Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in the UK is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant in Leigh to provide 1:1 support for a child with Autism in Early Years. SEN Teaching Assistant - Leigh (Primary / EYFS)

Full-time | 8:30am-3:30pm Monday-Friday | £90-£105 per day

Start: January | 2 terms | 32.5 hours per week

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a welcoming one-form-entry Primary School in Leigh who are seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team.

This is a rewarding long-term role supporting a child in the EYFS with Autism (ASD) on a 1:1 basis. The school is known for its strong sense of teamwork, unity, and commitment to providing an inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

About the Role

Provide 1:1 support for a child with ASD in Early Years.

  • Use strategies such as visual timetables, now-and-next boards, sensory breaks, and pictorial cues.
  • Follow the child's EHCP and implement guidance from the Speech and Language Specialist.
  • Create a calm, consistent, and nurturing learning environment tailored to the child's needs.
  • Work collaboratively with a supportive EYFS team and wider school staff.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Qualified to NVQ level 2 qualification (or equivalent) or higher
  • Experience of working with SEND
  • Experience of the National Curriculum
  • Knowledge of the intervention strategies
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
