Qualifications

  • Willingness to work towards Level 3 TA qualification.

SEN Teaching Assistant

Location : West Wycombe / Aylesbury Area

Salary : Competitive, based on experience and qualifications

Contract : Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed professional to join our dedicated team as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant . This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with additional learning needs in a supportive, nurturing educational environment.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting pupils with SEMH and other additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, and communication difficulties. Working closely with teachers and therapists, you’ll help create a calm, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to learn.

Your day might include:
  • Supporting individual or small groups of pupils in lessons and enrichment activities
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation through empathy and consistency
  • Helping to plan and deliver creative learning experiences that build confidence and resilience
  • Tracking progress and celebrating every small success
  • Working collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals
What We’re Looking For
  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people with additional needs
  • Experience in an SEN or SEMH setting(school, youth work, or similar)
  • Level 3 TA qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
  • Patience, empathy, and a sense of humour — essential!
  • The ability to stay calm and positive, even on the challenging days

About Us

Our provision offers a bespoke and nurturing environment for secondary-aged students (Y7 – Post 16) , many of whom are in the care of the local authority. We pride ourselves on creating safe, caring spaces where learners can express themselves freely and overcome barriers to learning. Classes are small, typically with no more than four pupils per group , ensuring that each student receives the attention and support they deserve.
