SEN Teaching Assistant – Waltham Forest

  • Contract: Long term, full time
  • Start: November 2025
  • Salary: £90–£110 per day

The Role
You’ll play a key role in supporting pupils aged 4–18 with a range of complex needs, including autism, PMLD and SLD. This includes:
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Assisting with classroom activities, behaviour support, and personal care when needed.
  • Encouraging communication, social interaction, and life skills.
  • Helping prepare engaging resources to support personalised learning.
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure consistency of support.
What We’re Looking For
  • GCSEs in English & Maths (grade 4–9 or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (school or care background).
  • A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
  • Flexibility and initiative to adapt to pupils’ needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with pupils and staff.
