SEN Teacher - Alternate SEN Primary Provision

Chertsey, Surrey • Start Date: January • Day Rate: £180‑250 (dependent on experience)

We are excited to recruit a passionate and skilled SEN Teacher to join a newly opened alternate SEN Primary Provision in Chertsey, Surrey. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape a nurturing, inclusive learning environment from the ground up and make a real difference to the lives of children with additional needs.

Job Overview

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, tailored learning experiences to primary‑aged pupils with a range of special educational needs. Working closely with a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will help pupils achieve their full potential both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality, differentiated teaching to SEN pupils
  • Plan and assess learning using the Equals Curriculum
  • Monitor and record pupil progress using Evidence for Learning
  • Support pupils in preparation for and understanding of SATS where appropriate
  • Create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, families, and external professionals
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience working with children with Special Educational Needs
  • Strong knowledge of the Equals Curriculum
  • Understanding of SATS and assessment frameworks
  • Confident use of Evidence for Learning to track and demonstrate progress
  • A patient, adaptable, and child‑centred approach
