Location: Ystrad Mynach, South Wales
Pay Rate: £89.38 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Starting October 2025 for full academic year

About the Role

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a resilient, empathetic, and committed SEN (Special Education Needs) Student Support Assistantto provide dedicated 1:1 support for young people with a range of disabilities and Additional Learning Needs (ALN).

This is a hands-on role that requires you to be flexible and adaptable, as each day can bring new challenges and changes. You’ll need to be willing to work with pupils across all key stages and abilities, supporting those who may struggle to engage in a typical classroom environment. Your role will be to help them feel safe, understood, and capable of progress.

We’re looking for someone with a calm and patient approach, who can build positive relationships and apply effective de-escalation techniques when needed. The ability to remain composed under pressure is essential in helping pupils feel supported and ready to learn.

  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Requirements

Teaching Personnel can provide guidance to help you obtain:

  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Level 2 Safeguarding training
  • At least two professional references covering the past two years
