SEN Teacher - Science

Location: KnowsleyRole: Full-Time, Long-Term Start Date: September

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct science to students with special educational needs (SEN), including those with Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and other complex profiles.
  • Adapt and adjust the science curriculum to cater to individual student needs and diverse learning styles.
  • Develop compelling and inclusive lesson plans using hands-on experiments and visual aids.
  • Integrate objectives from Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCP) into your daily teaching and assessment.
  • Provide both academic and pastoral support to students, nurturing their well-being and building their self-confidence.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow educators, support staff, and parents.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of student progress and accomplishments.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the school's science department.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Possesses a valid Enhanced DBS check (or is willing to apply for one).
  • Has proven experience teaching SEN students in UK schools.
  • Demonstrates strong skills in classroom and behaviour management.
  • Is passionate about creating inclusive learning environments and fostering an interest in STEM.
  • Possesses excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Is adaptable, resilient, and fully committed to supporting student's individual needs.
