Job summary

Overview

Functional Skills Tutor (Post-16)

We are seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to support post-16 learners in the Barking and Dagenham area on a part-time basis (10-15 hours per week).

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and supportive lessons in English and/or Maths, working with learners from Entry Level 3 up to Level 2. Many learners may have additional needs, including SEN and SEMH, and may have experienced barriers to education.
• Plan and deliver tailored sessions that build confidence, develop core skills, and support learners in achieving their Functional Skills qualifications.
• Monitor learner progress and provide ongoing support to ensure effective and positive outcomes.
• Work in flexible settings, including small-group or 1:1 support.

Eligibility

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional, child-related references covering the last two years
