Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for a permanent SEN English Class Teacher to join SEN School in Oxfordshire.

Required: SEN English Class Teacher (Permanent)   Contract: Permanent, TTO - Term time only   Location: Oxfordshire   Start date: ASAP   Pay grade: Main Pay Scale M1 - M6 + SEN Allowance   Key stage: Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4   Hours per week: 32.50   Weeks per year: 52.000   Visa sponsorship: No

Prospero Teaching are recruiting on behalf of a specialist school that provides high-quality education for pupils aged 11-16 with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Many pupils have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated needs.

About the Role
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons across the curriculum (including your specialist subject area if applicable).
  • Use assessment effectively to inform teaching and personalised interventions.
  • Promote a safe, nurturing environment that supports wellbeing and independence.
  • Collaborate with therapists, support staff, and families to provide holistic support.
  • Take responsibility for a class group as a Class Tutor.
  • Model high-quality behaviour support and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Contribute to whole‑school development and share best practice.
About You
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in primary or secondary education.
  • Experience working in an SEN setting, particularly with pupils with autism and SEMH needs.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN legislation, assessment, and best practice.
  • Creative, adaptable, and committed to meeting diverse learning needs.
  • A reflective practitioner with a growth mindset and excellent teamwork skills.
