Overview

Job Title: SEMH Tutor
Location: Henley-on-Thames
Pay: £20-£30 per hour

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEMH Tutor to support young people in the Henley-on-Thames area. Our students present with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), including low confidence, anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA).

Role Responsibilities
  • Deliver 1:1 or small group tuition to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assess learning needs and plan tailored schemes of work.
  • Provide engaging, creative lessons that build confidence and resilience.
  • Record progress and feedback to parents/carers and the wider team.
  • Support students to re-engage positively with education.
Person Specification
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a minimum of 3 years' proven tutoring experience.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH needs and strategies to support learners.
  • Patient, empathetic and adaptable teaching style.
  • Ability to create structured yet flexible learning plans.
  • Reliable, professional and committed to improving outcomes for young people.
