A specialist education agency is seeking a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant in Wigan to support students aged 4-11 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. The role starts early 2026, requiring commitment until Easter. Applicants should have experience with SEND/SEMH, be resilient and dedicated, and possess good teamwork skills. £425 – £475 per week (dependent on experience)

Connex Education are working with a specialist school in Wigan, who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join them on a full time basis. This role will be starting early 2026.
Providng education and emotional support to students aged 4 – 11 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, the school have specialist staff onsite who have excellent behaviour management skills and de-escalation techniques. Children are cared for to exceptional standards, ensuring trusting relationships are formed and maintained with students. They are excellent facilities onsite including a well-being hub and rooms for counselling. Staff here work together as a team, ensuring all needs are met whether they be emotional, social or academic.
The successful applicant will be able to work Monday – Friday and be available to commit to the school until Easter atleast. Working hours are 8.30am until 3.30pm.
