Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Class Teacher to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational PRU Settings in Blyth on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development. All Subject specialisms will be considered.

About the Role

• The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils with a wide range of SEN and allows all pupils to make progress. All Subject specialisms will be considered.
• Working with Secondary aged pupils within a PRU setting who have SEMH of varying levels as well as challenging behaviour
• Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
• The role will involve managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner
• Differentiating lessons appropriately to engage pupils and to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils.
• Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress
• Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
• Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience

About the School

• The role is based in an inspirational PRU setting in Blyth.
• The School supports pupils across the Secondary School age range who have SEMH and challenging behaviour

Pay, Hours and Contract

• Pay – Between £130-200 per day
• Hours – 08.30-16.00
• Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026. Temporary Contract.
• Start Date – ASAP
• Location – Blyth

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements

• Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
• QTS and Teaching experience in either SEND, Primary or Secondary School settings within the UK.
• Strong Behaviour Management skills
• Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress
• Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport
• A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work
• A genuine passion for Teaching and building relationships with pupils who face barriers to learning
• Strong organisation and communication skills
