Job summary

A local government authority in Newcastle upon Tyne is looking for a Security Officer for a fixed-term 12-month position. The role involves monitoring CCTV, coordinating alarm responses, and delivering high customer service standards. Candidates should hold a full UK driving licence and, preferably, have security industry experience. Training will be provided for necessary licenses. Qualifications

Job description

A fixed‑term 12‑month position is available for a suitable individual to work within the Facility Services & Civic Management Division of the Operations and Regulatory Services Directorate as a Security Officer based at the Civic Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne.

A 24‑hour service is operated; you will work an 11‑hour shift on an 8‑week rota pattern, working an average of 37 hours per week. Shifts include weekends and bank holidays. Shift and weekend enhancements and contractual overtime are paid on top of the basic salary.

This fixed‑term position is partially funded by NE1 and the successful applicant will work in conjunction with NE1 to support the reduction and reporting of crime in businesses.

You should be reliable, punctual and have a strong commitment to delivering high standards of customer service, attention to detail and ability to work in a busy environment, undertaking multiple tasks and dealing with clients, customers and members of the public.
