A security recruitment firm is seeking a Security Officer in Reading, Berkshire. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet visitors and staff at the site.
• Control access and egress of personnel to the site.
• Issue visitor passes as required.
• Conduct regular patrols of the site.
• Perform front of house security duties.
• Monitor security control room activities.
• Respond to fire alarms and security incidents.
• Provide customer service to staff and visitors.
• Conduct checks of plant rooms and facilities.
• Complete required incident reports.
• Adhere to Health & Safety policies.
• Follow site Assignment Instructions.
• Respond to emergency situations.

Security Officer

Location: Reading, Berkshire

Rate of pay: £21 per hour (£45,864) plus overtime opportunities

Shift pattern: 4 on / 4 off: 4 days (Apply online only), 4 off; 4 nights (Apply online only), 4 off.

Applicants must be able to achieve an enhanced standard of vetting.

This is an opportunity to join a professional security team in Reading. The role will see you working a mix of days, nights & weekends on a rota basis. You will be part of a skilled team providing a dedicated security service. If you are a customer‑focused security officer, please apply.

Essential Criteria

• SIA license holder
• Happy working a mixture of days, nights & weekends on a rota basis.
• Able to achieve vetting to BPSS and DV standards

Duties

• Meeting and greeting visitors and staff to the site
• Access / Egress security control
• Issuing visitor passes
• Regular site security officer patrols
• Front of house security duties
• Security control room activities including the remote monitoring of alarm activations
• Responding to fire alarm activations, security incidents and emergencies
• Providing friendly customer service to members of staff and visitors
• Carrying out plant room and facilities checks when required
• Completing security incident forms, notebook entries or Accident Report Forms as required
• Ensuring all Health & Safety policies are adhered to
• Working in conjunction with site Assignment Instructions
• Responding to emergency situations
• Other general security officer duties when required
