A global technology partner is seeking a Security Engineer to monitor and maintain security toolsets. The role includes incident response, health monitoring, and working on client IT infrastructures. Candidates should possess skills in security threats, excellent communication, and experience with MS Cloud Security. The position offers flexibility with hybrid working arrangements.
Engineers form part of the Security Engineering Team (SET), an expanding team who deliver specific IT Security Services to a client in the Aerospace industry. The team has a footprint in two main sites in Derby, to effectively provide services to the client. The team members are not fixed to one location, which lends itself to interesting and diverse work within differing environments. The role is focused in three main areas for Security Engineering and Operational activity:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service).
You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of client IT infrastructures and follow core IT Service Management Principles. This includes on-call and out of hours coverage.
You will keep the lights green on all Security Toolkit Infrastructure within our remit and support various toolsets including SIEM, IDPS, GVM and Malware Protection.
You will record and respond to health alerts from the Security Infrastructure we maintain.
You will learn how to tune and enable polices, features and enhancements as required in response to Security Incidents and general enhancements requested by the client.
You will gain knowledge on how to troubleshoot potential impact of security tooling on business applications as required.
