Job summary

A leading consultancy firm in the UK is seeking a Security Disaster Recovery Lead. The role involves implementing audit findings, developing governance policies, and maintaining disaster recovery plans for critical services. Candidates must have expert knowledge in resilience, experience in business continuity, and possess strong communication skills. This position supports live incident response and requires an active SC clearance.

  • Identify, collate and maintain DR plans for critical digital services.
  • Lead tabletop exercises, wargames and scenario testing.
  • Support service owners in updating DR plans.
  • Maintain and enhance organisational DR frameworks.
  • Support live incident response and recovery activities.

Security Disaster Recovery Lead

Start: ASAP

Duration: 6 months +

Location: 2 days per month in London OR Birmingham

Rate: £500-535 per day (inside IR35)

Overview
  • Implement actions arising from recent BCDR audit findings.
  • Develop and support high-level disaster recovery governance and policy.
  • Identify, collate and maintain DR plans for critical digital services.
  • Lead and facilitate tabletop exercises, wargames and scenario testing.
  • Support service owners in developing and updating DR plans, ensuring dependencies and priorities are accurately captured.
  • Maintain and enhance organisational DR frameworks and associated standards.
  • Work alongside crisis management, resilience and business continuity teams.
  • Support live incident response and recovery activities, engaging with external partners as required.
Skills Required
  • Expert-level resilience knowledge, including cyber and digital resilience, with strong understanding of global standards (NIST, ISO).
  • Extensive experience in business continuity and disaster recovery functions.
  • Strong planning skills with proven ability to deliver across complex, multi-stream resilience environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and clearly articulating risks, issues and resilience maturity.
  • Experience contributing to governance forums and resilience working groups.
  • Understanding of incident response frameworks and crisis management structures.
  • Familiarity with business continuity planning frameworks, business impact assessments and DR lifecycle processes.
