Job description

Secondary Supply Teacher

Are you a passionate and adaptable secondary school teacher looking for flexible work in Stoke-on-Trent? We are currently seeking dedicated Secondary Supply Teachers to join our agency for a variety of daily cover and long-term positions across local schools.

This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) who are looking to gain experience, maintain flexibility, or secure a route into a long-term role.

About the Role
  • Working in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 classrooms across a range of secondary schools
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons or, on occasion, creating your own engaging lessons in line with curriculum standards
  • Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring students remain on task and engaged
  • Providing feedback to department heads and recording student progress
  • Supporting pupils of varying abilities and adapting teaching methods accordingly
  • Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across a range of subjects (your specialism will be prioritised where possible)
  • Follow school policies and work collaboratively with existing staff and leadership teams
  • Be punctual, reliable, and professional in all settings
  • Be confident in managing classroom behaviour and applying school behaviour policies effectively.
  • Marking and assessment (for longer-term placements) as required
Requirements
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) - essential
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Flexibility and adaptability across different schools and year groups
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • References covering the last 2 years
