Secondary Music Teacher

Start: ASAP Contract: Full‑time

Milk Education is seeking a passionate, creative, and resilient Music Teacher to join a supportive department in a Secondary school in South Yorkshire. This full‑time position will start as soon as possible, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality Music lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Plan and deliver engaging, practical, and theory‑based lessons
  • Lead and support performance, composition, and listening activities
  • Develop students’ musical skills, confidence, and creativity
  • Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies to support learning
  • Manage rehearsal spaces, instruments, and classroom resources effectively
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and student outcomes
  • Uphold the values and standards of Milk Education and our partner schools
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Ability to teach Music at KS3 and KS4
  • Strong classroom and practical lesson management skills
  • Knowledge of performance, composition, and music technology (where applicable)
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Milk Education)
