Cover Supervisor

Protocol Education are working with Secondary Schools in the above areas to appoint enthusiastic and enterprising, unqualified Teachers and Cover Supervisors to join their staffing and cover teams. Such positions provide a great start to your career within the education sector or add to your ever‑growing experience.

The schools are looking for someone with a degree or strong background in core subjects or working with children and young people in any capacity to be able to lead and cover a variety of lessons throughout the school timetable.

FREE TRAINING ON HOW TO BE A SUCCESSFUL AND EFFECTIVE COVER SUPERVISOR. This training has been created by Protocol Consultants and School Cover Managers to give you the best introduction and core knowledge on how to excel in the role, make the best impact possible for students, handle behaviour positively and stand out in the role.

The Role
  • As an unqualified teacher/cover supervisor, you are responsible for supervising work pre‑set in accordance with the schools’ guidelines and ensuring such work is carried out to the best of your abilities.
  • To manage the behaviour of pupils whilst they undertake their work and ensuring a constructive and positive environment is always enforced.
  • De‑escalating situations within the classroom in the correct way and certifying safeguarding procedures are always adhered to.
  • Collecting work at the end of the lesson and returning it to the appropriate recipient.
  • Reporting any safeguarding concerns using the school’s referral procedures and safeguarding policies.

Start date: January 2026 / ASAP.

Contract Type: Full and part‑time available.

Pay: £95 – £120 (depends on experience).

Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm part‑time (part‑time positions also available).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
