A prominent conservation organization is seeking an Assistant Camp Director to lead educational experiences for youth. This seasonal position involves managing daily camp operations, mentoring staff, and fostering a positive camp culture. Required qualifications include a relevant bachelor's degree, prior camp or teaching experience, and strong leadership skills. Interested candidates should demonstrate a passion for environmental education and be available from June to August. A competitive hourly rate of $20–$22 is offered.

Surrounded by acres of woodland habitat, Weir River Farm is home to chickens, sheep, goats, pigs, and more! Our forty campers ages 5-14 are outdoors all week, including daily visits to the barnyard handling and caring for our animals. Campers learn gardening skills by weeding and harvesting in the Children’s Garden. Hiking adventures lead to discoveries in forest and field habitats. Each day’s lessons, games, and crafts are designed to instill the importance of nature and agriculture in our daily lives.

As the Assistant Camp Director, you provide leadership in all matters pertaining to the camp and serve as the acting Director as needed. Prior to camp, you will work with year‑round staff to prepare materials and spaces for staff training and the camp season and assist in leading training activities for staff. You will be proficient in environmental and farm‑based educational activities, well versed in creating a camp culture, and be knowledgeable about child development and behavior management.
This is a seasonal, nonexempt position working 40 hours/week and reporting directly to the South Shore School and Youth Programs Manager/Camp Director.
