Main duties of the job

As our Scrub Practitioner, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring smooth, safe, and high-quality theatre operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Supporting and delivering safe patient care throughout the perioperative journey.
• Assisting with surgical procedures across a range of specialties including Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmics, Gynaecology, and General Surgery.
• Maintaining accurate clinical observations and responding appropriately to changes in patient condition.
• Leading and supporting junior colleagues, contributing to the learning and development of the wider team.
• Assisting in equipment management, stock control, and ensuring compliance with infection prevention standards.
• Participating in clinical audits, data collection and driving improvements in theatre practice.
• Engaging in teaching, supervision, and professional development activities, contributing to a culture of learning.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP), you will also have

• A salary of £43,639, depending on your skills and experience
• Work 37.5 hours per week over 4 days (Mon-Sat 07:00-17:00)
