Overview

Science Technician – Heathside School, Weybridge, Surrey, KT13 8UZ

Starting ASAP 2025. 3 days per week – 21.5 hours. 38.4 weeks term time only. Working pattern: Mon, Wed & Thurs 8:00am–3:30pm. Salary: Grade ELM5 FTE £27,634–£29,604 per annum. Actual salary for 21.5 hours (3 days): £13,980–£14,976 per annum.

Are you passionate about science and keen to support the next generation of scientists? We are seeking a motivated and organised Science Technician to join our dynamic science faculty at Heathside Weybridge, a forward‑thinking secondary school committed to delivering high‑quality education.

You will support teaching and learning by
  • preparing and providing chemicals, equipment and materials for lessons
  • servicing laboratories, including cleaning of equipment between lessons
  • providing timely support to all teaching staff in the Science department
  • monitoring stock and supplies and undertaking administration tasks
  • helping ensure health and safety in the Science department

The role includes working alongside teachers to support learning in practical lessons and demonstrations.

Candidate should
  • have experience working in a scientific/laboratory environment, know how to prepare and maintain supplies and equipment and possess a working knowledge of health and safety requirements
  • be able to communicate effectively and be competent in IT and admin tasks
