If so, look no further. Apply now. We are seeking an experienced Librarian to work in our school based within Huntingdon. This is a full-time role and you will be expected to work from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities
  • The management of the Library’s budget, staffing and electronic and hard copy resources
  • Manage and promote a wide range of resources in a variety of formats and, where appropriate, the equipment to access them
  • The creation and implementation of a Library policy which supports the school in meeting the targets set in the School Development Plan
  • Liaison with all departments in the school and with the wider learning community to ensure appropriate access to learning resources
  • Help to pupils and staff on resources available in the Library to assist student learning and extend patterns of teaching
  • Provide specialist support for Sixth Form students, to assist their learning and capability of becoming effective independent learners
  • Support for literacy and reader development within the school
  • Act as Team Leader for the Assistant Librarians
  • Promote reading through events and opportunities
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Previous experience of working in a Library
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (essential)
  • DBS on an update service is a must or willingness to get a new one
  • Provide specific references
  • Ability to maintain a professional manner in challenging situations
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and interpersonal skills
