Overview

We are looking to appoint a school counsellor to provide individual student counselling whilst offering support with a wide range of issues and topics within a caring, supportive and inclusive environment at Babington Academy. The successful candidate will hold a professional counselling qualification and be able to demonstrate and understand the developmental, emotional, social and educational needs of young people and have experience of working in an educational environment. Patience, excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills are essential to this role. You will also have an understanding of CAMHS and other local services as you will be liaising with outside agencies to access specialist care and be communicating with parents, carers and staff.

Start Date, Hours and Salary
  • Start Date: 1/6/26 (negotiable).
  • Working Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 8am to 3pm (30 minutes unpaid lunch), 39 weeks per year.
  • Salary: Grade 8, point 23 £39,153 pro rata to £29,680.88 per annum.
