A prominent university seeks a qualified Occupational Therapist registered with the HCPC to promote inclusive practices and manage Adult Social Care staff. The role requires significant post-qualification experience within statutory services, focusing on effective team leadership and championing the occupational therapy profession. The successful candidate will also engage in policy development, supervision of staff, and leading improvements in practice. A commitment to high-quality, person-centred care is essential. The team co‑ordinates the provision of occupational therapy and sensory services, advising on equipment and adaptations for the short term as well as complex specialist long‑term support in the community. The service ensures the delivery of high‑quality, person‑centred, strengths‑based practice that champions the independence and wellbeing of Hackney's residents. We focus on the assessment of individuals within a home environment and managing complex casework related to physical disabilities and the provision of specialist equipment and adaptations. This service boasts an integrated adaptation and home improvement service which works in partnership and alongside the occupational therapy and sensory service. Care Act Assessments are completed collaboratively with the resident, family members, carers and other involved professionals, to ensure that the service users' long‑term care and support needs are assessed and that any newly arising concerns or needs are addressed.
