Overview

Job: School Club Manager

Location: Leeds, LS16

Salary: £88 to £120 per day

Start: September 2025

Contract Type: Perm

The School and Role

Empowering Learning is working closely with a large primary school in LS16 that are seeking to appoint a School Club Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Relate well to children and adults and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Work with students presenting challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques as appropriate.
  • Work independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Follow and implement policies and procedures; ensure activities are inclusive for all children to take part in.
  • Provide weekly reports and complete daily checklists.
  • Support the development and maintenance of good relationships and communications with parents/carers/school to facilitate day-to-day positive relationships.
  • Consult with children and involve them in the planning of activities.
  • Ensure safe working practices and compliance with health and safety regulations, COSHH, and food handling where applicable.
  • Take direction from the owner and follow through in a timely manner; work reliably mornings and afternoons, term-time only.
  • Lead a large staffing team and contribute to a positive team environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Knowledge and experience of behaviour management and restorative strategies; comfortable with children.
  • Driving licence is desirable for this role.
  • Be qualified in Early Years or Playwork.
  • Willing to obtain First Aid certification.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Word, Email and SharePoint.
  • Experience as a Manager leading a large staffing team.
  • Ability to follow and implement policies and procedures; be reliable and able to take direction from the owner.
  • Be available to work mornings and afternoons; term-time only.
  • Enjoy working within a large team and speak clearly on the telephone.
  • Committed to safeguarding and child welfare in line with school expectations.
