Job summary

A leading global financial services provider is seeking a SAS Subject Matter Expert to lead a platform migration from Cloudera to AWS in a hybrid role based in London or Northampton. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of SAS experience, expertise in cloud transitions, and strong stakeholder management skills. This is a 7-month contract role inside IR35 that offers the opportunity to work on a major cloud transformation programme. Qualifications

• 10+ years of SAS experience, especially with SAS 9 / Viya, CAS, and Visual Analytics.
• Proven track record of large-scale SAS migrations or cloud transitions.
• Strong AWS knowledge with experience in cloud-based data architectures.
• Understanding of banking regulatory and security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead SAS architecture aligned to AWS in current and target states.
• Repoint SAS workloads from Cloudera to AWS.
• Provide guidance on code compatibility and modernization.
• Ensure solutions comply with banking regulations.

Location: London or Northampton (Hybrid – 3–4 days onsite)

Contract: 7 months, FTC or Umbrella Contractor, Inside IR35

A leading global FSI business is looking for a senior SAS SME to lead a critical platform migration programme from Cloudera to AWS. This is a hands‑on, strategic role where you’ll define the SAS architecture, ensure seamless migration, and provide technical leadership across multiple teams.

What you’ll do:

• Lead current-state and target-state SAS architecture aligned to AWS.
• Repoint SAS workloads (ETL, models, analytics, reporting) from Cloudera to AWS.
• Provide guidance on code compatibility, refactoring, and modernization opportunities.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and compliant with banking regulations.
• Act as the technical authority, collaborating with architects, data engineers, and stakeholders.

What we’re looking for:

• 10+ years of SAS experience (SAS 9 / Viya, CAS, Visual Analytics, Model Manager).
• Proven track record of large-scale SAS migrations or cloud transitions.
• Strong AWS knowledge and experience with cloud-based data architectures.
• Understanding of banking regulatory and security requirements.
• Strong communication skills and senior-level stakeholder management.
• Eligible to work in the UK.
