Job description

Overview

Our annual Santa Fun Run event will take place on Sunday 7th December 2025. This is a family friendly event with up to 800 Santas and their little Elves running 5km around Central and Admirals Parks in Chelmsford. This role is a one off commitment of up to 6 hours on Sunday 7 December 2025.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and welcoming runners at the start point
• Marshalling along the route to keep runners safe and encourage them
• Giving out medals and helping with refreshments at the finish line
• Packing away the event after the finish

Person Specification (Qualifications)

To succeed in this role you must be enthusiastic, friendly and happy to chat to supporters and help make them feel valued. You will need to be happy being on your feet for a couple of hours, although if you are marshalling you’re welcome to bring a camping chair along.

You must be willing to work to Farleigh Hospice values (we are caring, respectful, dedicated and innovative).

The Fundraising team will then be in touch to allocate roles and confirm timings for the day approximately 2 weeks before the event.
