Overview

The Sanctuary (Crisis Café) is a service for residents experiencing emotional distress. The café operates weekdays in the evening and on weekends in the afternoon. We provide initial support meetings face to face and via telephone, work with clients to resolve immediate distress, and explore coping mechanisms. We coproduce support plans with clients and offer 121s, counselling, peer support groups and workshops, as well as a social place to be.

Responsibilities
  • Work with people in distress or who have mental health issues; provide supportive, non-judgmental assistance.
  • Be highly organized with excellent people skills.
  • Deliver initial support meetings (face to face and via telephone), and assist clients in resolving immediate distress.
  • Coproduce support plans with clients and offer 121s, counselling, peer support groups and workshops.
  • Create a welcoming, social space to support clients and promote well-being.
  • Work a minimum of 3 shifts per week.
Service Details
  • Open 7 days a week.
  • Hours: 4:30–10:00 PM, Monday to Friday; 12:00–6:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday (Barnet).
Requirements
  • Experience in working with people in distress or with mental health issues.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent interpersonal abilities.
Contract and Remuneration
  • Salary: £27,300 per year FTE.
  • Contract type: Permanent; Part-time (full and part-time roles available; evenings and weekends; minimum of 3 shifts per week).
