A leading international life sciences company is seeking a Sample Splitting Technician for a full-time role in Welshpool, UK. Eurofins Environment Testing Australia is an Environmental testing network of fully accredited laboratories. With a staff of over 300 our laboratories are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and with Client Service Offices located in Adelaide, Darwin, Newcastle and Wollongong. We also operate field sampling services out of Melbourne and Sydney. We specialise in all areas of Environmental analysis, including Contaminated Soil, Sludge, Sediments, Leachate, Soil Vapour, Trade Waste Effluents, Sewage Effluents, Stack Emissions, Work Place Air, Ambient Air, Dust, Drinking Water, Surface Water run off, River & Stream Monitoring, Seawater, and Groundwater.

Job Description
  • Permanent full time position, based in Welshpool, WA.
  • Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.

The Sample Splitting Technician will be responsible for assisting the laboratory function by ensuring all samples are appropriately prepared and analysed in a timely manner while assisting with various other laboratory duties, to achieve operational, customer and quality requirements.

Key Accountabilities
  • Prepare samples for analysis by mixing, blending and weighing, in accordance with sample/analysis requirements and preparation methods.
  • Perform routine analysis, validations and project work in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Ensure external and internal clients’ requirements are met / exceeded.
  • Ensure efficient utilisation of laboratory materials.
  • Operate, calibrate and maintain equipment/instruments as required.
  • Complete all quality control records in accordance with quality requirements and work instructions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of their work area and processes, aiming for better safety, quality, turn‑around‑time and efficiency.
  • Ensure all mandatory training are completed (E‑Learning and Safety Hub).
  • Act in accordance with the Eurofins Code of Ethics, and all other relevant policies and procedures, as updated from time to time.
Qualifications
  • Certificate / Diploma in Laboratory Techniques; or equivalent qualification; or significant laboratory experience.
  • Experience in a commercial laboratory will be an advantage.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to structure thoughts deliberately, logically and directly.
  • Knowledge of standard office applications, especially MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi‑task.
  • Ability to problem solve and work well under pressure.
  • Proven organisational skills with an ability to follow procedures.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
