Job Description
- Sales Growth & Customer Development
- Drive sales performance across existing and new customers, focusing on margin growth and sustainable revenue.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across wholesale, retail, and independent trade sectors
- Utilise established industry relationships to open new trading channels and strengthen our market presence.
- Maintain regular contact with key customers through face-to-face meetings, calls, and trade events.
- Deliver strong customer service and long-term partnerships based on reliability, trust, and value.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks while pursuing growth opportunities.
- Experience managing profit and loss (P&L) and driving margin improvement.
- Contribute to marketing and promotional planning to support category sales initiatives.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Sales Manager should have:
- Proven experience in a trading, business development, or commercial sales management role within the FMCG / wholesale / grocery sector.
- Strong record of sales growth and GP generation
- Excellent commercial negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Well-connected within the industry, with a network of relevant contacts.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage margin performance and P&L impact.
- Can work collaboratively with Finance, Operations, and Logistics to ensure smooth execution of all trading activity.
- Confident communicator, able to influence and build trust at all levels.
