Event Sales Manager – Shropshire

Our client, based in the Shropshire countryside, is looking for a full‑time permanent Event Sales Manager. The successful candidate will lead the commercial sales function for the agency's events portfolio, which includes conferences and industry awards.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sales plans to achieve commercial targets.
  • Proactively sell events, including awards and conferences, through research, outreach, and networking.
  • Prepare tailored sales proposals and pitch documents.
  • Build and maintain long‑term relationships with potential clients, serving as the main point of contact before, during, and after events.
  • Manage sales, pipeline and activity using the company's CRM system, ensuring accurate records of all leads, conversations, proposals and outcomes.
  • Provide regular reporting on sales performance, pipeline status and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on campaigns and promotional activities.
  • Work with events and content teams to develop commercially viable programmes and contribute to post‑event reviews and strategic planning.
  • Help create mission‑driven events that build community while staying within non‑profit budget constraints.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience, preferably within events.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and outbound sales skills, including cold calling and proposal development.
  • Experience managing a CRM system and handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of the event lifecycle and existing industry relationships (preferable).
  • Highly organised and proactive sales professional.

Location: Shropshire countryside
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum
+ Bonus scheme will be implemented once the role has been established
