RESPONSIBILITIES
- Make a strong first impression of ADP on potential prospects.
- Act as a trusted advisor, uncovering pain points through shared insights to help prospective buyers find ways to overcome challenges.
- Encourage prospective buyers to attend in‑person events and webinars.
- Set up and host conference calls with leads, detailing their needs and how ADP can help.
- Establish opportunities to develop to Closed Won.
- Generate new business opportunities across key markets for our HCM solutions and maintain our position as a Global HCM provider.
- Research prospect accounts, provide insights, and learn for prospects via high‑level conversations with C‑suite contacts, warm lead follow‑up, social media, and marketing collateral.
- Promote ADP’s services, profile and research existing and emerging companies to identify their business objectives and critical issues.
- Profile and desk‑research the existing database of potential clients (Targets) ensuring all key details—decision‑maker names, addresses, current suppliers, etc.—are identified and mapping the structure of each target account.
- Utilise specialist research tools to identify critical business issues within targeted accounts and track market trends.
- Use social media platforms to assess and follow HCM marketplace topics and promote ADP as a thought leader and challenger.
- Ensure ADP is active and seen as a “trusted expert” in areas where targets are self‑teaching.
- Build close business relationships with selected accounts to keep ADP at the forefront of their thinking when a critical need arises.
- Produce a regular flow of qualified, sales‑ready opportunities—not merely appointments.
- Collaborate with field sales on local campaigns or one‑off events (e.g., webinars) for profiling and follow‑up.
- Regularly use Salesforce.com, accurately updating and maintaining all activity.
- Participate in regular one‑to‑ones with the SDR Team Leader to give/receive feedback and identify training needs.
- Take part in company training sessions and team days.
- Own individual tasks and targets to ensure the overall success of the team.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Experienced telemarketer or SDR, or someone looking to start a career in sales.
- Organised, driven, and flexible, working well with team members and stakeholders.
- Passion for technology and customer experience.
- Keen to learn and develop in the role—including shadowing senior salespeople and attending ADP Learning Events.
- Target‑driven, entrepreneurial, and prepared to challenge the status quo.
- Flexible attitude and enthusiastic, ambitious with a clear desire to progress in a large organisation.
- Self‑motivated, confident, articulate with good business acumen and commercial awareness.
- Proven ability to organise effectively, prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and adhere to standards and detail.
- Clear understanding of the importance of processes.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Comfortable holding business discussions with high‑level executives.
- Familiar with the role of social media in today’s sales environment.
- Ability to build effective internal relationships with key ADP stakeholders.
- Ability to develop supportive relationships with sales colleagues and own team.
- Enthusiastic, committed, calm under pressure, and able to deliver to tight deadlines.
