A local healthcare provider in Harrogate is looking for a GP to cover 3 to 4 sessions per week. The practice offers a dynamic work environment with a strong focus on staff wellbeing. Responsibilities include conducting surgery and telephone consultations, making professional decisions on patient care, and collaborating with a supportive team. Candidates must hold an MBBS or equivalent medical degree, be GMC registered, and possess an MRCGP. Flexibility and strong communication skills are essential.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a GP to join our team tocover 3 to 4 sessions per week in a friendly, dynamic, and forward-thinking,single-site surgery in Harrogate. We have an outstanding clinical and nursingteam, situated in modern, purpose-built premises in the heart of this historicSpa town.
Strayside Health is a recently formed practice (following the successfulmerger of East Parade and Park Parade Surgeries in April 2025). Before themerger, both practices worked closely together for a number of years, sharingour Nurse Team and back-office staff (medical secretaries, data quality andadministration teams).
Our newly merged practice is progressive and keen to embracechange whilst maintaining the traditional values of patient centred generalpractice.

We are friendly and supportive with a focus on staff wellbeing andfor many years have continued the tradition of our valuable daily GP coffee meeting.
Routineclinics compromise of a mix of telephone and 15-minute face-to-faceconsultation appointments, including 25% of routine surgery time being protectedfor clinical admin and a defined number of appointments per routine session.

In accordancewith the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselvesavailable to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations,telephone consultations, eConsultations, visiting patients at home, checkingand signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork andcorrespondence in a timely fashion.
Actioning a shareof blood results and incoming clinical documents, both paper and electronic
Makingprofessional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whetherself-referred or referred from other health care workers
Assessing thehealth care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screeningpatients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
Developing careplans for health in consultation with patients and in line with currentpractice disease management protocols
Referring toother care providers as appropriate
Recording clearand contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
Prescribing inaccordance with the CCG or practice prescribing formulary whenever this isclinically appropriate
In general, the post-holder will be expected toundertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GPworking within primary care.
Situated in thebeautiful spa town of Harrogate close to the Yorkshire Dales, we serve an urbanand suburban population of just under 16,000 patients.
We are committedto providing high quality primary care. There are six GP Partners and nine SalariedGPs with a range of skills and interests.
We have developedinnovative systems to manage our workload. This includes having a shared ClinicalAdministration Team, Data Quality Team and Medical Secretary Service. Theseteams are shared amongst both practices at Mowbray Square Medical Centre,giving us a strong infrastructure to support GPs and safely reduceadministrative workload.
Our highly skilledand experienced Nurse Team consists of a Practice Nurse, Nurse Associate andtwo Healthcare Assistants, who are led by our Lead Nurse.
We have formalresponsibility for three care homes for the elderly and two learning disabilitycare homes. Named GPs offer a fixed regular commitment to these homes under alocal ICB scheme.
Nominated GP leads for safeguarding, QOF, finance, patient services,womens health, prescribing, palliative care, diabetes and nursing care ensuresa structured supportive system across the practice.
