Job summary

A leading UK company is seeking an HSE Advisor in the Supply Chain to provide advice and support for supplier compliance with safety regulations. You will promote high standards in Environment, Safety, Health, Security, and Quality, and coordinate supplier audits to ensure adherence to company policies. The ideal candidate will possess a Level 3 health and safety qualification and have a strong understanding of relevant legislation. The role may require travel and occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Qualification e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • IOSH grade of Affiliate, Associate or newly upgraded TechIOSH.
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation.

Job description
HSE Advisor - Supply Chain

You will provide conventional safety advice, guidance, and support to Supply Chain Management with regard to on-boarding Suppliers. Follow agreed strategies in line with relevant legislation, industry standards and AWE's policies, procedures and guidance and complete data reporting and associated documentation as required.

  • Ensuring that company strategies, policies and management system requirements for conventional health & safety are communicated and understood.
  • Maintaining and promoting high standards in Environment, Safety, Health, Security and Quality.
  • Assessment of supplier competency evaluation submissions
  • Co-ordinating supplier audits and managing audit schedules.
  • Managing a plan to get an unacceptable supplier audit response to an acceptable level.
  • Travelling to Supplier premises to validate, verify and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and safety regulations.

Location: Reading /Basingstoke area

Salary: £33,690 - £45,000 per annum (dependant on experience and suitability to the role)

The role holder will have some of the following skills and attributes -

  • Level 3 Qualification e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Health & Safety, NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • IOSH grade of Affiliate, Associate or newly upgraded TechIOSH (to develop H&S competence through continuous professional development).
  • Commitment and willingness to undertake necessary training and update knowledge as and when required including CPD.
  • Lead by example, visibly demonstrating Company Behaviours
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Computer literate (IT/IS).
  • Investigation and inspection techniques.
  • Customer service-related tasks and duties.
  • Evidence of effective team working.
  • Good knowledge and ability to interpret relevant legislation.
  • All candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
  • Willing and able to travel with possible overnight stays away.
