Job description

Are you a passionate and high-energy safety professional who believes that Health & Safety is about people, not just paperwork? Do you thrive on the challenge of influencing culture and driving real, behavioural change across a multi-site operation?

A leading FMCG manufacturer in North Wales is looking for SHE Manager to take full ownership of the Environmental, Health, and Safety strategy across their operating sites.

The successful SHE Manager will ideally have demonstrable experience of SHE management within a manufacturing or automated distribution environment. You will hold a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent), IEMA environmental certificate and experience with ISO 14001/45001 systems (internal or lead auditor experience is a plus). Most importantly, you will bring energy and passion and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to challenge and support managers to ensure safe ways of working are understood and followed.

SHE Manager responsibilities
  • Culture & Engagement: Developing EHS "operational champions" and implementing measurable staff engagement projects.
  • Strategic Leadership: Creating and delivering the company EHS strategy while managing the functional budget.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Promoting sustainable operations by identifying energy efficiencies, resource consumption improvements, and waste minimisation.
  • Compliance & Risk: Ensuring robust Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work are in place, alongside managing ISO 14001/45001 standards.
  • Investigation & Prevention: Leading thorough investigations into "near misses" and incidents to implement effective preventative controls.
  • Coaching & training: Line management of a SHE Coordinator and delivery of relevant training and coaching to internal stakeholders.
Additional
  • Permanent Monday - Friday role, 40 hours per week, flexible start and finish times; applicants seeking a 4-day part time role will also be considered.
  • This is a multisite role, applicants are required to have a UK drivers' licence and access to their own vehicle.
  • Our client is unable to offer sponsorship, applicants are required to have full, permanent right to live and work in the UK upon application.
