Join Our Team at Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service!

Overview

Role: GMFRS Safety Centre Volunteer – volunteer support delivering interactive tours at Bury Training and Safety Centre. Minimum two hours a month during school term time.

Salary: £0 (Volunteer). Contract: Volunteer Agreement. Hours: 2 sessions per month. Location: Bury Training and Safety Centre. Advert closing date: 11/01/2026.

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging tours for schools and community members, providing immersive fire safety learning. Serve as ambassador for the Safety Centre and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service. Adopt comprehensive training and uphold safety messages effectively.

Qualifications
  • Age 16 or older.
  • Minimum two visitor sessions per month during school term time.
  • Reliable travel to Bury Training and Safety Centre.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills to a range of audiences.
  • Willing to undertake an EDBS with barred lists.

Travel expenses reimbursed per Volunteer Travel and Subsistence Policy.
