Job description

Are you interested in developing a career in safeguarding? The Band 7 Safeguarding Adults Practitioner post is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced registered nurse or allied health care professional to develop key knowledge, skills and experience as part of a busy Safeguarding Team.

Working with victims and survivors of domestic abuse, professional abuse, modern day slavery, cuckooing, homelessness, radicalisation, trafficking, exploitation and many other types of abuse - no two days are the same.

The Safeguarding Adults Practitioner will manage the day-to-day referrals received by the team, meeting with staff and patients as required. Working closely with external agencies such as Adult Social Care, the Police and Domestic Abuse Outreach services they will co-ordinate care to facilitate safe outcomes for victims and survivors of abuse.

The Safeguarding Adults Practitioner will support the Safeguarding Adults Nurse Leads in the delivery of Trust wide safeguarding training, communications and representation at various forums. They will also work with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in order to provide patient-centred outcomes and coordinate responses for safeguarding enquiries.

The successful candidate will need to be forward thinking, have a problem-solving approach, and the ability to prioritise tasks and keep track of unfinished tasks, so will need excellent personal organisation and communication skills.

The post holder will provide clinical leadership, expert advice, support, supervision and training to staff within Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust (RSFT) on all matters relating to safeguarding adults.
