Job description
Overview

We are looking for a compassionate, motivated individual with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills who is dedicated to working as part of our friendly team. We strive to deliver high quality, patient-centred care and a supportive environment for patients, families and carers.

You will need expert knowledge to support patients with their cancer diagnosis and support them whilst undergoing systemic anti-cancer treatments. Successful candidates will act as role models for professional practice at all times and deliver high standards of care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert nursing advice and support to other health professionals.
  • Support in the development of junior staff and work closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Deliver excellent holistic nursing care to patients receiving chemotherapy/SACT and supportive care.
  • Work in a nurse-led outpatient unit that cares for patients receiving outpatient chemotherapy for oncological/haematological malignancies.
  • Undertake patient assessments, symptom control, management of complications as a result of treatments/disease and provide expert advice to patients and other health professionals.
  • Support the delivery of the outpatient chemotherapy service and care in line with aims to improve outcomes and guidance in service delivery.

  • Expert knowledge to support patients with cancer diagnosis and systemic anti-cancer (SACT) treatments.
  • Commitment to maintaining and improving care for patients and their families undergoing chemotherapy/SACT.

About the Unit

The unit provides care for patients receiving outpatient chemotherapy for oncological/haematological malignancies. Nursing staff are experts in providing high-quality care, performing patient assessments, symptom control, management of treatment-related complications and giving expert advice to patients and other health professionals.
