Rotherham Care Group Director

We have 5 Clinical Care Groups, each with a Care Group Director, with a Senior Leadership Team (SLT) reporting to the Care Group Director. We are seeking to recruit a substantive Care Group Director with accountability for the Rotherham Care Group.

You have day-to-day accountability for everything within the Care Group. This role is within the wider Clinical Leadership Executive, reporting to Board, which shapes Trust decision making. You are an excellent system partner, a community and patient advocate with a strong focus on delivery. You understand and will positively influence patient flow and can continue to develop our directorate leadership. We are seeking a colleague who has experience in working with & leading clinicians, in particular medical colleagues including Primary Care.

Main duties of the job

This role will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) who is accountable for the day-to-day delivery of effective and safe clinical services across all the clinical Care Groups. You will join four other established Care Group Directors and the Deputy Chief Operating Officer, who work as one team.

The Care Group Director provides leadership to all their clinical services which are Adult Mental Health Services, for Rotherham. This is with the SLT which constitutes three Care Group Clinical Directors and a Deputy Care Group Director.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in a relevant area.
  • Educated to master's level or equivalent.
Experience
  • Must have an understanding of the background of and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this for RDaSH.
  • An appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health and Social Care, the individual provider and commissioning organisations.
  • Consolidated experience as a senior Manager.
  • 3-5 years' experience as a senior Manager within the NHS, Local Authority, Business or similar organisation.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience of staff Management.
  • Successful track record of leading complex multiple service areas.
  • Experience of complex financial and clinical redesign.
  • Recent demonstrable success in delivering high standards of operational performance.
  • Recent demonstrable success in influencing and delivering successful service redesign at scale
  • Experience of effective team working with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience of exercising effective results orientated leadership
  • Demonstrable evidence of sound financial planning and HR management at a senior leve
  • Show a high level of understanding and experience in the NHS commercial development.
  • Previous experience of working at senior management level within the NHS.
