A healthcare organization in Eastbourne is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to provide patient-centered care and support the Lead Pharmacist. This role involves staff education, progression opportunities, and participation in clinical pharmacy services. Candidates will gain support for professional development and gain access to various staff benefits, including NHS pensions and psychological support.
This role will involve rotating around specialist areas such as Women's and Children, Surgery and Critical Care and potentially an education education /clinical lecturer rotation linked with the University of Brighton . The successful candidates will support the Lead and Specialist Pharmacist's within these areas to provide patient centred-care and lead on projects that support the directorate achieve clinical, pharmaceutical or financial targets. Progression and development are key priorities for our department and this role is designed to support career progression from post-registration Foundation training through to Advanced Level Practice.
We also offer structured support for personal and professional growth, including access to a funded Postgraduate Clinical Certificate in Pharmacy Practice, and future support in gaining an Independent Prescribing qualification.
This post may be based at either Eastbourne District General Hospital or Conquest Hospital in Hastings.
In this role, you will work closely with consultants, medical staff, midwives, nurses, pharmacy teams, and other healthcare professionals to provide clinical pharmacy services to the specialist area. You will also support the dispensary as needed and be part of the wider clinical pharmacy team.
This role includes a focus on staff education and development. You will be a Practice Supervisor for trainee pharmacists, pharmacy undergraduates, and rotational clinical pharmacists. At the same time, you will be supported in pursuing your own professional development, with opportunities that align with both your career goals and the needs of the department.
Additionally, you will be expected to participate in the department's weekend and on-call service on a rota basis after completing an orientation and induction period.
